One of the first things visitors to the Bob Marley Museum see upon entering the premises at 56 Hope Road in Kingston is the singer’s baby-blue 1976 Land Rover. The museum is, temporarily, down one attraction, though, as the classic car was recently sent to a Land Rover dealer in Montego Bay to be assessed for a planned restoration, following years of exposure to the elements. Said to be Bob’s favorite ride, the truck has proven to be very popular with museum visitors—and staff. The Bob Marley Foundation’s general manager, Jacqueline Lynch-Stewart, said the removal of the vehicle has been “very traumatic” for workers there. “Any time anything goes it is traumatic. They get a little emotional.” That mellow mood shouldn’t last long, as the vehicle is slated to return to its usual place out in front of the museum following any necessary fixes.

Harlem’s own, A$AP Rocky unveils the Clams Casino-produced track “Wassup.” Rocky has teamed up with Vice in order to create the clip, which offers visual elements of his five favorite movies: Scarface, Belly, Enter the Dragon, the Warriors and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Nashville, TN Jessie Baylin announced the release of her new music video for “Hurry Hurry.” The clip for the track was helmed by Jessie’s close friend, actress Scarlett Johansson, with Adam Kimmel (Capote, Lars & The Real Girl) handling the cinematography. As a complimentary visual to the album’s soft and sweeping opener, “Hurry Hurry” was a clip shot in one take on New York City’s Manhattan Bridge with the New York skyline as its backdrop. Its simplicity perfectly balances the purity of emotion felt in the song.

“One of the greatest gifts of growing up with Jessie has been watching her develop as a musician,” Johansson said. “This song has a dreamy Brian Wilson sort of feel; I wanted to build on that and allow the video to carry on dreamily and use the changing tone and Jessie’s expression to match the vibe of the melody.”

Yesterday, Yuna announced the release of “Live Your Life”, available on January 24th. The new single was produced by Pharrell Williams and is the first track off her upcoming US full-length debut scheduled for release later this year.

The announcement of her new single follows what was a whirlwind 2011, with SPIN featuring Yuna in their Buzzcatcher piece, “Eight Bands You Needs to Hear Now” and a stellar performance before a packed audience at MTV Iggy’s Best New Band in the World concert in New York City. Yuna was a finalist in the Best New Band in the World competition and the show aired live on MTV’s HD Screen in New York’s legendary Times Square and was also streamed live worldwide on MTVIggy.com

Theophilus London announced his 2012 North American Tour starting in Cleveland today January 11th and includes stops in SF (Mezzanine), LA (El Rey Theatre) and NYC (Webster Hall) before wrapping up in Montreal February 18th.
