Modest Mouse will visit the Lone Star state playing shows at Stubbs Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX on November 9th and the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas, TX on November 10th. On November 13th, the band will appear at the SWU Music and Arts Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Talkdemonic, who were recently signed to Isaac Brock’s Glacial Pace label, will be opening the shows in Austin and Dallas. Tickets for the Austin and Dallas shows go on sale Friday, October 21 at 10:00am central time.

The Guggenheim Museum will present a unique musical performance by MGMT at the after-party for the annual Guggenheim International Gala on Thursday, November 10, 2011, held at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum on the occasion of the exhibition Maurizio Cattelan: All. A second MGMT performance at the museum will take place on Friday, November 11, 2011.
The 2011 Guggenheim International Gala will celebrate the retrospective Maurizio Cattelan: All, in which the artist’s entire body of work will be suspended en masse from the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed rotunda in a provocative, site-specific installation. With over 130 artworks on view from the rotunda floor and from varying heights of the museum ramps, the exhibition offers a dramatic setting for guests at the Guggenheim International Gala and at the MGMT events. Bushmills Irish Whiskey, is welcoming the national expansion of its “Since Way Back” initiative with the announcement of band Bon Iver, actor Elijah Wood, and the return of Chromeo to its family. “Since Way Back” was initially developed in early 2009 to celebrate the close friendships and camaraderie shared between lifelong friends in New York.
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar will return to Broadway early next year. The revival of the 1971 musical by the Stratford Shakespeare Festival will begin previews on March 1st at the Neil Simon Theater after a brief run at the La Jolla Playhouse later this year. Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group and Dodger Properties will produce the show, which will be directed by Jersey Boys director Des McAnuff. The production will follow the upcoming Broadway revival of Godspell, another religion-themed rock musical from the Seventies.

Vans and Mastodon are teaming up to create an exclusive event on September 27th for Vans’ Facebook fans to celebrate reaching 3 million Likes at the end of August. A hub for all things Vans including the concert webcasts, team rider chats and the latest product updates, Vans’ Facebook community tripled in size after reaching the million fan mark a year ago.
As a big thanks to all of their 3 million Likes on Facebook, Vans called upon some friends to help celebrate the occasion. Mastodon will be doing a LIVE chat from the Van studio on September 27th, which is the release date for Mastodon’s new album, The Hunter. “Lights All Night” announced today the initial lineup for the two-day 2011 New Year’s Eve festival boasting an array of world-class DJs and music acts. The concert will be held at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, TX on December 30th & 31st. Tickets to “Lights All Night” go on sale Tuesday, August 30th.
