Theophilus London announced his 2012 North American Tour starting in Cleveland on January 11th and includes stops in SF (Mezzanine), LA (El Rey Theatre) and NYC (Webster Hall) before wrapping up in Montreal February 18th.

This initial Theophilus London remix initiative is the first of a larger partnership between Warner Music Group (WMG) and social media platform Talenthouse who today announced that together they will launch and execute a wide range of innovative marketing and promotional campaigns for WMG artists. The global deal includes all of WMG’s labels, sub-labels and affiliates. For the first Creative Invite, Talenthouse, Bing and Warner Bros. Records will be tapping into Theophilus London’s fan base and engaging consumers through a variety of social media platforms. With the winning song actually being included on an album, it marks the first time that a Talenthouse contest winner will appear on a major record from a major label artist.

Fresh off the heels of a MTV Unplugged performance, Young The Giant announced dates for their 2012 headline tour. The tour will begin in San Diego on February 10, 2012 and will go through mid-April.
Young The Giant has enjoyed tremendous success this year with two hit songs, “My Body” and “Cough Syrup,” massive critical acclaim, and have played the main stages at some of the biggest festivals in the world including the main stage at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Sasquatch to name a few. Their second single, “Cough Syrup” is currently #2 at Alternative radio. Their first single, “My Body” shot to the #4 spot on the alternative chart while the band performed the song live at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Young the Giant also graced the MTV Unplugged stage which aired in November on MTV.com. The milestone Madison Square Garden event will see Swedish House Mafia – Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso – make history by becoming the first dance act to headline the iconic venue, as well as recognition as one of the fastest sellouts at Madison Square Garden this year.
Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter will host the first ever hip-hop concert series at New York City’s landmark Carnegie Hall on February 6th and 7th, he announced at a press conference yesterday morning. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit at-risk and low-income students in New York City’s public school system. “It’s going to be some legendary nights,” Carter said. “Lots of loud music. It’ll be fun.”
The concerts aim to bolster the efforts of his Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation, founded in 2003 by Carter and his mother, Gloria. “My mom would get on the bus and tour colleges with students,” Carter said of the foundation’s early years. “We really started it at a grassroots level, and now we’re trying to organize it at this level and have it make sense.” The foundation will be partnering with the United Way of New York City to strengthen their work in classrooms, providing students with after-school tutoring, emotional counseling, college trips and ultimately, full-tuition scholarships to two- and four-year universities.
Coldplay will launch its first North American tour in nearly three years on April 17. The run, which kicks off at Rexall Place in Edmonton, AB, will include a two-night stand at Los Angeles’ historic Hollywood Bowl (May 1 & 2). The band is touring in support of its new RIAA-certified Platinum record, Mylo Xyloto, which has scored the most No. 1 rankings of any album this year worldwide, topping the charts in 34 countries to date. Mylo Xyloto’s first two singles have received GRAMMY nominations – “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song, and the Gold-certified “Paradise” for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Coldplay is nominated for a People’s Choice Award in the Favorite Band category.

Jimmy Cliff will release his first studio effort in seven years tomorrow, November 29th. Entitled Sacred Fire EP, it was produced by Tim Armstrong (Operation Ivy, Rancid, The Transplants). Featuring a combination of originals and covers, Sacred Fire EP will serve as a pre-cursor to a new full-length album in early 2012.
Cliff is the only living musician to receive Jamaica’s Order of Merit, the country’s highest honor for achievement in the arts and sciences. In a career that spans nearly fifty years, he has sold more than twenty million albums, with over twenty-five releases to his credit. He has collaborated with countless other legends including The Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello, Joe Strummer and Annie Lennox. Bob Dylan has called Cliff’s “Vietnam” the best protest song he ever heard, and a short list of artists who have covered Cliff’s compositions ranges from Willie Nelson and Cher, to New Order and Fiona Apple. In 2010, Cliff was one of six artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Cliff will spend the rest of the year touring Europe and putting the final touches on his forthcoming full-length due out for release in April 2012.
