Women We Love: Amber Rose

Apart from having an amazing body, Ms. Rose has a amazing fashion sense and she looks finger licking good (sorry Ladies) but Amber Rose is everything a hipster would want in a women, gorgeous women, sexy style and warrior sex appetite. Sources stated that Amber was once all about the ladies and is a former adult dancer, but that doesn’t hold Kanye West from making Amber his lady, and I wouldn’t have either. He said it himself in ‘Stronger’:

“This is Louis Vuitton Don night / So we gonna do everything that Kan like / Heard they’d do anything for a Klondike / Well I’d do anything for a blonde dyke / And she’ll do anything for the limelight / And we’ll do anything when the time’s right / Baby you’re makin’ it harder, better, faster, stronger.”

NY Times Art & Design: Nicola Vassell

“If you cut out the excess and extravagance, what you’ll have is a return to personal creativity, a rich creativity that has nothing to do with how much money you have.”-N.V.

Nicola Vassell, a Jamaican-born, former model who is currently a director at Deitch Gallery in New York, was the focus of  a New York Times feature, ”A Shaper of Talent for a Changing World.

Like many of her contemporaries she represents a crop of young current individuals whose presence is well needed in the classical art world.

Barack and Michelle Obama’s First Dance

The chemistry between these two is what we’ve read in fairy tales and can only wish to duplicate, it’s been a long time I’ve seen a couple that moved me the way these two compliment each other so well. Here they are having their First Dance as President and First Lady to Etta Jame’s “At Last” performed by Beyonce.

Women We Love: Michelle Obama

“Behind Every Good Man Stands a Good Woman.”

If there was ever a better time to use the cliché’ quote “Behind every good man stands a good woman” it would be best applied to Michelle Obama. With Michelle stands the pivotal point that individuals can fulfill their chosen path and the journey matters just as much as the outcome. Justifiably, Michelle happens to be numerous things; wife, lawyer, public servant, and woman of color…but if you ask Michelle who she really is, her typical response would be first and foremost that “I am Malia and Sasha’s mom.”

Before she was a mother and First Lady-elect, she was Michelle LaVaughn Robinson, daughter of Fraser and Marian Robinson born January 17, 1964. Michelle began her journey growing up on the South Side of Chicago, making her way through Princeton University and Harvard Law School. There after Michelle accomplished various achievements while positioning her self at Sidley Austin where she met her husband President-elect Barack Obama. After Barack’s election to the U.S. Senate, both Michelle and Barack decided to keep their family based on Chicago’s South Side, rather then to have moved to Washington D.C. There is much more that can be said between the lines but the predicate and substantial matter is that Michelle’s essence along side Obama’s is the bringing about of necessary change for the future of our country.

Throughout Barack’s campaigning period, Michelle maintained a firm balance between work and family in the early stages having made a commitment to only be away from her daughter’s overnight once a week and devoted only two days out the week to Barack’s political campaign. Like every hard working, goal orientated, American family the Obama’s at times struggled to keep the balance while pushing forward on the 2008 campaign trail but Michelle held it together.  As the increasing press coverage posed Obama as the preferable running candidate for the White House, Michelle was right there taking on the increasing interviews and press talks supporting her husband every step of the way.

Now that the dust has settled and a superior step in history has been made for the future of America with Barack as our profound leader and Michelle as our First Lady one certainty that is undeniable is change. As the masses repeat the saying: “Yes, we can”, now it can be said that “Yes, we did.” For the role of our first Lady, there could not be a more phenomenal and aspiring individual such as Michelle to uphold that position.
