Dahon los XL Bicycle

ios-xl-main

The Eurobike IF Gold Award winner, the Dahon los XL is an urban folding bike which the jury described as the “perfect example of a stylish, functionally designed folding bike that meets the demands of urban mobility and flexibility.” Not only is the los XL have the geometry, riding position and handling characteristics of a full-sized bicycle, but it also comes equipped with an integrated phone/GPS charger, integrated air pump and Valo lighting. The perfect fit for urban riders who want a full-size bike but also need the convenience of a compact fold.

“The Ios is a complete rethink about the needs of urban cyclists,” states Joakim Uimonen, Dahon Product Design Manager. “We threw out the constraints of standard bicycle frames and components, completely re-designing them where necessary. We came up with some radically new innovations that we feel are very important for the urban bike category.”

Congrats to the Yankees!

ALCS NYY V LAA GAME 5

As the New Yankees defeat our brothers on the west, the Los Angeles Angles in a very nerve wreaking game for them that was ended by Mariano Rivera striking the Angels with a scoreless ninth, clinching the club’s first trip to the World Series since 2003 and putting an end to thoughts of another 2004-like ALCS collapse. Andy Pettitte pitched the Blue Boys to a 5-2 win over the Angels tonight in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series, clinching the 40th pennant in Yankees history.

Congrats to CC Sabathia who was honored with the reward as MVP of the American League championship series.

Us, New Yorkers are waiting for the Phillies to come to the Bronx for Game 1 of the Fall Classic on Wednesday night.

Bertelli Bicycles

domenica-main

Francesco Bertelli takes design with his bicycles very serious and won’t hesitate in letting you know what you will and will not find on his bikes; from no logos and stickers to including vintage crankets. For those same exact reasons is why we love so much the Bertelli Bicycles, there’s no need for the unnecessary when you just want to take a nice cruise around the neighborhood to your favorite breakfast bar.

Bertelli combines brand new parts with “new old stock” and vintage parts found at flea markets, old bikeshops, collectors and his suppliers which makes each bicycle unique. Every part is assembled by hand, finished and fine-tuned by Francesco. Talk about dedication to individuality!. (more…)

Novak Djokovic

TENNIS-OPEN/

On the heels of the US Open, following some incredible wins and some shocking upsets, it seems time-appropriate to highlight one of the best players in the game. Yes, we know that Federer and Nadal are awesome. We know that Serena – despite her vulgar tirade during the semi-finals – is an incredible force on the court. But what about some of the others – the ones who come from some of the smaller, often overlooked countries in the world? They are, without a doubt, the pride and joy of their respective homelands – and, during a generally bleak time for everyone, they give everyone something to feel good about! (more…)
