Stussy & Herschel Supply Co. Bag Collection

Stussy collaborated worked with Canadian luggage maker Herschel Supply Co. on a range of Spring/Summer 2012 bags. Consisting of three models, Journey Duffle, Walton Duffle, and Settlement Backpack, each bag shows influence from the military with its olive and black exterior. Contrasting the tough exterior of these items are the custom designed Wild Hawaii floral pattern fabric lining the interior. Each bag is detailed by a double brand woven label to signify the collaboration. Find these bags at select Stussy Japan stores and on their online shop from Thursday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 12th respectively.

LVMH Engages Chinese Influencers With Nowness

The Chinese consumer is one of the big reasons luxury brand marketers like the French conglomerate LVMH took the recent economic downturn in stride.

LVMH, owner of iconic brand names including De Beers, Fendi, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton, recognized years ago that China represented a burgeoning luxury market. Along with European competitors like Hermes and Burberry, LVMH aggressively sought out Chinese retail channels for its products.

Even though luxury products continue to enjoy popularity, there are signs that store sales may be leveling off in China. That’s why LVMH is looking to the Internet as a new way of engaging upscale Chinese consumers, as evidenced by the launch of a Chinese-language version of its Nowness.com portal.

Nonnative Men’s Dweller Liberty Print Gore-Tex Trainer

Japan’s nonnative are no stranger to collaborative efforts, and their spring/summer collection sees the brand team up with London’s historic fabric merchant Liberty, as well as the market leader in technical fabrics, Gore-Tex; to produce this detailed version of their Dweller low-top trainer.

A classic low-top style – modelled on the famous Chuck Taylor style – the trainer is produced from thick canvas that is patterned with a distinctive Liberty print flower pattern. The style features soft suede top-caps and are fully lined in Gore-Tex fabric to maintain comfort and breathability. Finished with a turquoise heel strip and a hardwearing gum sole, the trainers are a unique style from the luxury Japanese label.

Jordan Brand Releasing Playoff Collection

Many of you will be occupied in your living room this weekend watching the NBA playoffs, at the same time the Jordan Brand will release new colorways for three players: Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony and Dwayne Wade with home and away versions for each players signature shoe. The Jordan CP3.V (White/Sport Red-Treasure Blue and Sport Red/White-Treasure Blue) and Melo M8 (Anthracite/White-Team Orange and Anthracite/White-Varsity Royal) will arrive at retail on May 9 while the Fly Wade 2 EV (White/Black-Metallic Silver-Gym Red colorway and the Stealth/White-Cool Grey) is set to hit stores on May 16.
