As a lover of all things creative, fashion and art, there are very few brands that spark my attention (no offense to those) but over the last year or so, there has been a footwear brand that kept me intrigued from launch, and that brand is Android Homme. There’s a huge difference between a ‘fashion line’ and a ‘fashion brand’. A brand embodies a deeper manifesto far more than what they produce. Android Homme is a true brand of footwear and soon to be accessories for the creatives that push the envelope above and beyond the norm. Directed and edited by Javier Laval and the Lookbook shot by photographer Sarah McColgan, Android Homme celebrates the release of five new styles and the launch of accessories for Android Homme’s Spring 2010 season.
“Shapes and symbols have been a method of communicating and comprehending the unknown since the beginning of time. Android Homme brings you a brand video that utilizes some basic symbols and shapes to outline the process of reprogramming. This piece, directed by Javier Laval, is intended to stimulate and trigger memories from our ancient past to our near and distant future.”

As the Summer slowly sneaks its head out and tease us, we all are beginning to look for footwear to restock our closets with. One brand that I’m looking into is Native. Inspired by the classic casual shoe silhouettes, but made with the lightest and most comfortable material available. Native shoes are made from 100% EVA, an environmentally amphibious material that allows each pair to be ultra-comfortable and all-terrain. This unique material molds to your feet, is antimicrobial and odor-resistant: a perfect combination of tech, comfort and utility. Perfect for you folks with funky feet! (more…)

Its bold sport details of high-visibility hash mark foxing and pronounced diamond toe bumper are balanced with vintage style of two-tone stitching, fine weave 9 oz. canvas, striated toecap and inner webbing stripe. In addition, the Rambler includes a special removable Posture Foundation sole insert that makes this classic shoe extra comfortable. The insert has an antimicrobial moisture wicking wedge, new EVA molded wedge, and a gel-injected heel for increased cushioning and comfort. (more…)

The New Balance 365 project is a collection of 365 short films that engages consumers 365 days a year by asking them to think about “the balance”. Beginning today, one 20 second short film that creatively explores the idea of “the balance” will post live each morning to NewBalance365.com and via the New Balance 365 iPhone alarm clock app for consumers to view, ponder, and engage with the New Balance brand each and every day of 2010.
The project was designed to revolutionize the way New Balance connects with the consumer and creates a new method of communication with the brand’s audience. Over the course of eight days, the first 88 (of 365) films were shot in Stockholm and were directed by multi-talented Swedish film director Jesper Koothoofd. New Balance 365 website moves away from the typical transactional model to one where the brand creates fresh daily content and utilities that become a part of people’s everyday lives-thus giving people a reason to interact with the brand daily. A shoe with a clean, traditional silhouette is on the top of the Spring must-have list for most men this year. Here to swoop in and fill the void is Clae with their Spring ‘10 collection. Accompanying the core classics from past seasons, such as the Russell, Romare, and McQueen, Clae gives us three new models, the Bruce, Ellington, and Zissou. The Bruce gets it inspiration from legendary martial artist Bruce Lee with its simplistic, contemporary take on the Chinese slipper. Designed in the mold of classic boat shoe, the Zissou favors the nonchalant and eclectic personality of Steve Zissou of The Life Aquatic. The Ellington rounds out the new releases with being the slimmest silhouette we’ve seen form Clae. This functional shoe can be worn with a pair of khakis for a casual look as well as pants for a more formal, put together look. Vegans around the country will also be happy being that a number of shoes come in hemp. (more…)
