After four years of renovations, the 19th century neoclassic private mansion of the House of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin located in Reims (France), has been entirely restored – from the façade which was severely damaged in the first World War, to the updated interior design. The renovation work has involved many different talents, ranging from professionals who specialize in historic preservation to artists and renowned designers such as Mathieu Lehanneur, Pablo Reinoso, Fredrikson Stallard and the Campana Brothers.

The Hotel du Marc offers a poetic visual experience that carefully articulates the spirit of Veuve Clicquot through various elements. Examples of these elements include the following:
· Library filled with souvenirs from travels
· Dining room in theatrical black enhanced with gold
· Grand staircase as if in watercolors with the colors of grape
· Wooden banister flowing like the root of a vine

On September 30th, the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art in Oslo – one of the world’s leading contemporary art institutions will lend a selection of 219 works to an exhibition taking place at the São Paulo Biennial Pavilion. Sponsored by IGUATEMI, the show will provide an opportunity for the public to witness works by the most distinguished names in global contemporary art previously unseen in Brazil, and will run until December 4th.

Icons like Jeff Koons, Matthew Barney, Richard Prince, Robert Gober, Nan Goldin, Sherry Levine, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Lousie Lawler, Charles Ray, Christopher Wool and Shirin Neshat will be represented for the first time in the country with large-scale series, alongside a newer generation of artists including Nate Lowman, Dan Colen, Gardar Eide Einarsson, Aaron Young, Seth Price, Matthew Brannon and Matthew Day Jackson. A selection of works by art world superstar Damien Hirst will also be on display. “The objective of the Biennal museum is to show what is happening in the world of contemporary art, and the Astrup Fearnley collection is one of the best examples in the world in this sense” says Heitor Martins, president of the São Paulo Biennial.

Curated by Gunnar Kvaran, director of the Norwegian museum, the exhibition represents a significant moment in the history of the São Paulo Biennial Pavilion where the most significant event in the contemporary art calendar takes place every other year. At this juncture, the celebration of the São Paulo Biennial’s 60th anniversary and the mounting of the show In The Name of The Artists draws on the institution’s power to transform the cultural life of the nation by promoting major exhibitions in the off-years between editions of its biannual art exhibit.

evian has partnered up with French fashion designer Courrèges to create a new limited edition bottle. This design combines evian’s free-minded spirit with the House of Courrèges’ non-conventional creativity.

The evian bottle by Courrèges, launching globally September 8, features the design house’s elegant white and pink emblematic flower (introduced in 1967) on the backdrop of evian’s iconic glass bottle silhouette. Printed with organic ink for the first time, the bottle is composed of 100% recyclable packaging.

To celebrate its launch in conjunction with Fashion’s Night Out, evian will be introducing the bottle at Jeffrey New York and Colette in Paris, where the design will be on display. The bottle will be available in select restaurants and hotels as of November 2011 and online at shop.evian.us for pre-order.

The ninth yearly edition of the Art Stays International Festival of Contemporary Art will be taking place this summer, the third time in the context of Art Ptuj Summer Festivals. This year’s festival is entitled CONNECT, as it will connect over 100 artists in Ptuj, Slovenia. 80 of them will be presented for the first time in Slovenia, almost 60 are younger than 35 years, 20 are Slovenian, 6 of them newcomers. 16 curators will present 54 events between 22nd July and 5th September.

In cooperation with Light Art Biennial from Austria, Ptuj will host light objects by artists such as Manfred Kielnhofer, Christoph Luckeneder, Mounty R. P. Zentara and Alexandre Murucci. We have also invited Korean artist Jeongmoon Choi to exhibit her light drawings. Installations by Art Stays’ artists (Dušan Fišer) will join and complement the visiting works of art. The Light Art Project is is a conceptual upgrade of Art Stays projects from 2005, when the festival carried the name Light Please. The aim is to awaken life in the sleepy oldest Slovenian town. Each night, Ptuj will shine under the glow of the light installations and take a peek into a brighter future. Curated by Jernej Forbici.

St. Tropez has seen it all. At the heart of the French Riviera, the beautiful town has come to be known for the row of private yachts lining the quai and the stream of movie stars and personalities that file through in peak season. It is the region’s natural beauty that attracts them, of course. But the modish lifestyle doesn’t hurt much either. It is here, in St. Tropez, that we encounter Shahe Kalaidjian and Christophe Pillet’s beautiful second collaboration. With their first joint endeavor, Hotel Sezz in Paris’ 16th Arrondissement, they developed a language of their own. In St. Tropez, they translate it from an urban lexicon into one that describes the ultimate in luxury vacation.

Situated on the town’s Route des Salins, guests can smell and feel salt water and warm breezes from their beds and baths. With 37 guestrooms engulfed by a lush wooded park and a swimming pool at its hub, Sezz St. Tropez is as warm and inviting as it is fresh and full of vision. The Personal Assistant Programme devised at Sezz Paris has been carried over to St. Tropez, but its new collaborations – the Dom Pérignon bar, the restaurant led by world-renowned chef Pierre Gagnaire, and the spa developed in partnership with Payot – are unique to Sezz St. Tropez. Each of the hotel’s guestrooms, suites and villas is individualized and has its own private balcony that leads out to the central pool or into a private garden.

When guests arrive at Eccleston Square Hotel, an historic townhouse on an award- winning garden square in Pimlico, Central London, they might think they’re about to step into an old-fashioned city residence. But instead they will be entering a timeless modern lobby, which dazzles with a black, crystal chandelier and herring bone pattern floor tiles.

After a £6.5m renovation, this Georgian town house has emerged as an ultra-high-tech urban cocoon, where guests are comforted and soothed by luxurious products and swathes of futuristic gadgets. In all 39 rooms there are blue tooth iPod connections, VoIP phones and programmable ‘wake up and sleep’ experience that takes control of the curtains, heating and lighting. The 46-inch 3D TVs with 3D Blu-Ray players and hand-made, electronically adjustable Hästens beds are standard in all rooms.

Good sleep and well-being are central to the design concept devised by Olivia Byrne, who recently completed a four-and-a-half-year course at Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne in Switzerland. “The ethos of the Eccleston Square Hotel is quite simple,” she said. “We want our clients to leave the hotel feeling better than they did when they arrived.”

Ever wished you could keep cold water ice cold and your morning tea hot till the end of day… all while saving the planet? Now that’s possible with the launch of S’well bottles. The S’well bottle is a superior stainless steel bottle that utilizes a new advancement in insulation, which keeps drinks cold or hot much longer than its counterparts, and the best part is that S’well has teamed up with WaterAid, a non-profit organization that for the past 30 years has been working to deliver water solutions to world’s poorest communities. Every bottle sold provides a year supply of water for someone in need, and every five bottles sold provides a lifetime supply. Water is essential for life, but one billion people, one sixth of the world’s population, do not have safe access to it. To address this crisis, for every S’well bottle sold, 10% percent of the proceeds are donated to this charity. This year, WaterAid will reach 1.2 million people with safe water and 1.7 million people with sanitation.
