The commercial, directed by Todd Phillips (Old School, The Hangover, Due Date, etc.), features Matthew Broderick playing himself in a grown-up version of his celebrated role as Ferris Bueller alongside the all-new 2012 CR-V. Using themes from the original film to bring Honda’s “Leap List” campaign to life, the spot is meant to reinforce how the CR-V helps consumers conquer their aspirations before life’s next big phase.

To promote the BMW 1 Series in South Africa, digital agency iLogic projected an interactive racing game onto buildings and scaffolding’s in major cities over eight nights and let consumers take part in playing on the huge, 108 square meter screen. Promoters on the ground helped participants enter their Facebook details via a Galaxy Pad, used afterwards as a steering wheel to race with. Results were posted to the BMW1 Series fan page on Facebook, as well as the racer’s personal profile.

The Lexus LF-LC 2+2 hybrid sport coupe concept vehicle is displaying the combination of avant-garde beauty and advanced technology today at the Detroit Auto Show. Conceived by the company’s Calty design studio in Newport Beach, Calif. as a design exercise, the LF-LC envisions offering Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive that delivers both driving performance and fuel efficiency. The exterior is highlighted by dynamic shapes, intriguing details and expansive use of glass while the interior features high technology set off by organic shapes and materials.

The American photographer and filmmaker, Alex Prager, is known for creating surreal and enigmatic movie moments inspired by Frederico Fellini and David Lynch. Yet in her versions – heady with mystery, lust and desire – the woman is in control. Of her enigmatic images for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Icons of Style, Alex Prager said she chose cinematic greats as her Icons of Style. “I constantly reference Fellini characters and Hitchcock as well,” said Prager.

Dutch supermodel, Lara Stone plays the update on the Hitchcock blonde, a strong protagonist who overcomes loneliness and fear. This inner strength is underscored by a timeless and elegant dress worn by Lara Stone and designed by Calvin Klein Collection’s Women’s Creative Director, Francisco Costa.

The SL Roadster featured in the latest Mercedes-Benz Icon of Style campaign, combines technical innovation with sleek sportiness and classic luxury and reinterprets the legendary Mercedes-Benz classic of the 1950s for today.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Collaboration, Icons of Style, is making its US debut at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2012 from February 9-15, 2012.

The website will be in sync with an outdoor street painting in Shinjuku Station Square, Tokyo. A group of artists, the Rinpa Eshidan1, will start the painting at 10AM on November 20, and will gradually flesh it out over eight hours and six minutes. As the painters work, their piece will come to life in real-time as artwork on the website – highlighting the speed of the prototype car, which will premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show on December 3. The website, created by Deltro, will be online until November 26.

Volkswagen is going back in time with a ‘Back to the Future’ style disappearing act that takes the Golf GTI back to the 1970s. The online campaign by DDB UK, celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Golf GTI, kicks off with a viral film that opens at an event for the Golf GTI Edition 35, where a live audience is introduced to the new car and the Golf GTI’s engineers, before witnessing it vanish before their eyes as it travels back in time.

Viewers can then follow the journey of the Golf GTI via a series of videos on the Volkswagen UK Facebook page. The first video shows the time traveling car appear at Volkswagen’s German headquarters at Wolfsburg in 1976. The second shows where the car ends up.

At the LA auto show this November 18th through 27th, Chrysler will officially announce the US version of the ‘Abarth’, the performance model of the ‘Fiat 500′, set to be available beginning in February 2012. Already available in Europe, the car is modeled after Karl Abarth’s 1960′s racing vehicles, coined under the phrase ‘small but wicked’.

With its turbocharged 1.4L ‘Multiair’ engine, the vehicle attains 160-horsepower, in contrast to the 135-horsepower of its European counterpart. An add-on ‘tuner’ option is expected to raise this value by ten to twenty horsepower. The company’s ‘Multiair’ system reduces fuel consumption and cuts carbon dioxide emissions by 10 to 25 percent.

The vehicle will be available with 16-inch or 17-inch wheels. Inside, racing style seats open unto a centrally-mounted console containing the 5-speed drive shaft as well as climate and audio controls.

Complete automation and transformable interior furniture define the ‘Palazzo’, a bespoke mobile home by Vienna-based luxury vehicle manufacturers Marchi as part of the company’s ‘Elemment’ series. Measuring 38 feet long and 13.5 feet tall, each craft in the ‘Elemment’ series is based on the aerodynamic vehicle and trailer cab design proposed by German industrial designer Luigi Colani, helping them to attain a 20% increase in fuel efficiency. An automatically controlled gangway offers entrance to each vehicle.

In the ‘Elemment Palazzo’ mobile home, the coach includes a master bedroom, lounge, and combined bathroom
across two floors. While the design of each vehicle is largely determined by each client, common elements include hardwood floors, a full-length rooftop skylight along the bar, and height-adjustable bar and seating. A slide-out compartment increases the interior space by 80% when the mobile home is parked. a 20-square-meter ‘sky lounge’ rises from the top of the vehicle with the push of a button, equipped with an under-the-floor heater, misting system, AV controls, and bar.

Set-up, dismantling, and climate, temperature, and lighting controls are visible and executable via a central touchscreen control program. Glow-in-the-dark paint is used to create custom styling or design on the vehicle’s exterior, visible only in proper light conditions.

Some would say Mercedes-Benz specialist Brabus has a fixation with building insanely fast cars… and they would be absolutely right! Now, five years after the unveiling of what was then billed as the fastest saloon in the world, the limited run Brabus Rocket based on the first generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS, the German company returns to Frankfurt with a vengeance presenting a new preposterous proposal.

The heir to the original Rocket is built around the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz CLS Saloon with power coming from a heavily modified Mercedes-Benz-sourced V12 bi-turbocharged engine. VRRROOOOMMMMM!!!! (Sorry, couldn’t resist)

The German firm’s engineers increased the displacement from 5.5-liters to 6.3-liters and made a array of other upgrades including, but not limited to, newly configured on-board electronics system, a reworked intake, and redesigned high-performance turbochargers.

As a result, output is lifted to 800-horses at 5,500 rpm and an enormous peak torque of 1,047 lb-ft, available from just 2,100 rpm, but limited electronically in the car to 811 lb-ft.

A modified seven-speed quick-shift automatic transmission with steering wheel paddles along with a limited slip differential handle the transfer of power to the rear wheels.

On the outside, the CLS gains a wide-body aero kit that includes carbon-fiber fender flares on the rear axle that add 40 millimeters (1.6-in.) to the car’s width, front and rear spoilers, a diffuser and more.

The Rocket 800 rides on 19-inch one-piece BRABUS Monoblock F wheels tightly wrapped around tires in size 255/35 ZR19 up front and 285/30 ZR 19 in the rear. Can you say, Swag?

Finally, interior improvements include a bespoke steering wheel, aluminum trim, custom upholstery and a revised instrument panel with a 250mph speedometer.
