Brooklyn’s Joey Bada$$ and his crew Pro Era dropped a new mixtape, PEEP the aPROcalypse, over the weekend, presumably in celebration that the world didn’t end on the 21st, but they suffered a more personal tragedy when Capitol Steez, a member in Pro Era, passed away at the age of 19. His death lends a mournful air to the mixtape, which figures nostalgic, old-school beats as the background for a bunch of killer verses from Capitol Steez (check out “Interlude 47″) alongside Joey and the group’s other members, but it’s a great listen that makes us excited about what Pro Era have in store.
