What’s In Your Bag – Rodney Torres

Rodney Torres, born and raised in Queens NY, is a household name for New York City skateboarding. He grew up skating in the streets of NYC and has been appearing in all of the major skateboarding video and editorial publications since 1994. This ultimately gave him the opportunity to ride for some legitimate brands in the industry and obtain the amateur, professional and master status in his career, becoming one of the first original technical skaters to come out of NYC and a well respected legend of the community.

Now, after more than two decades of skateboarding, Rodney Torres, has decided to take business more into his own hands by creating his own brand of skateboards and apparel named TORRO! NYC. We asked Rodney to share with us the items he carries on his daily conquest, check them out below.

Name or Alias – City, State or Location: Rodney Torres – New York City

Identify all items in your bag: Canon EOS 7D, 50mm lens, 24-70 Lens, My Cellphone, My Macbook Pro LapTop, My Beats by Dre headphones, a peach Snapple and a Clifbar.

Why do you have these items in your bag? What do they mean to you?

I’m always on the go with my camera bag, shooting photos of the TORRO! team and capturing some of the random moments of the day. I pack my laptap and headphones in my bag just incase I have to work on something specefic that involves my computer while I’m out and about. I also pack my bag with a peach snapple and Cliff bar in case I get hungry or thirsty while I’m on the go throughout the day. I usually bring stickers too so I can hook up the kids at all of the skate spots we hit up. I keep my phone in my bag for important phone calls and social media marketing purposes. These things all mean a lot to me because they help me and my business get through the day every day.

Which are your absolute must-haves? What can’t you live without on a daily basis?

I definitely have to have my skateboard and cell phone with me at all times. That is an absolute must have. I have a lot of thing to deal with throughout the day and my phone helps me stay connected while I’m out skating.

What do you think these contents say about you?

I think what these contents say about me is that I’m productively moving forward, staying connected and prepared for anything that could happen next.
