Maison Scotch proudly presents its Amsterdams Blauw® denim collection for Fall/Winter 2012. This new season, the designers were inspired by a mix of two cities: living in the fast-pace, buzzing city of New York, with the Bedouin mind state of Marrakech. This results in a line of well-considered, carefully detailed denim garments with a relaxed feel and bohemian touch. Key styles this season include the Mikee, a new 5-pocket boyfriend regular fit with big back pockets, and ‘The Ace’: a new cropped tapered fit, with front chino pockets and dropped back pockets, with a side seam that twists to the back.
Set amongst boulders on a secluded hill in the heart of Baja California lies Endémico, a hotel in Mexico’s premier wine growing region, which opens June 29. Endémico, Spanish for endemic, was designed to highlight and pay homage to the organic beauty of the landscape; from stark desert to lush vineyards. Accordingly, a team of hand-selected local tradesmen worked in collaboration with Gracia Studio to create 20 luxury cabins, which blend seamlessly with their stunning natural surroundings. Hotel owners Carlos Couturier and Moisés Micha, the partnership behind the highly innovative Grupo Habita portfolio of hotels, are avidly committed to investing in the regions in which they build their hotels, on an environmental, social, economic, and cultural level. Here, the eco-friendly cabins are raised off the ground to minimize their impact on the landscape and are constructed from Corten steel and wood to ensure that they weather over time.
Sometimes the most exciting sounds come from the most unexpected combinations. This summer, vitaminwater has partnered with FADER to bring you “uncapped,” a nationwide concert series dedicated to bringing the best artists working in hip-hop, electronic and indie rock and combining them in an unprecedented series of shows.
The third concert of the series took place last night in Seattle at the Emerald City Trapeze Arts Studio, with the unexpected pairing of 2Chainz and Passion Pit. Both bands provided the crowd with ridiculously high-energy sets – Passion Pit even performed their new song “I’ll Be Alright,” which was professionally recorded live on-site, for the first time ever.
For those who were unable to make it out last night, not to worry. here’s a peak at the live performance video premiere of Passion Pit’s “I’ll Be Alright” that happened Wednesday night.

After a couple months of silence, Mary J. Blige has spoken out about her Burger King crispy chicken ad that appeared online in April and sparked controversy.
Appearing Thursday on Hot 97′s Angie Martinez Show, Ms. Blige apologized to those who were offended by the ad, which was highly criticized for everything from not being of Mary-caliber quality to stereotyping African-Americans. “It’s just something that I thought would [have been]…a great branding opportunity,” she said on the show. “It never was a chicken commercial. It was about a sandwich. And I was singing about the ingredients. ”
BK pulled the ad quickly after it went up. The chain said that it pulled the ad off YouTube “due to a music-licensing issue, which Burger King is in the process of resolving. We expect to have the ads back up and on air soon,” according to the statement. The ad, created by ad agency Mother, wasn’t seen again.
Ms. Blige earlier had said that she was under the impression that the ad was supposed to feature a dream sequence. She told Hot 97 that “it was sold to me that it would be shot in an iconic way. I would never just bust out singing about chicken and chicken wings. It hurt my feelings and crushed me for two days.”
