Combining street art with fashion, Johnson’s work explores the intersection of these two underground disciplines in the form of Walls360 graphics that collage pulp novels, graffiti art, skateboard culture, and comic books in Johnson’s “urban surrealist” style. Johnson’s past projects include well-received murals at the Montauk Surf Lodge, Webster Hall and the U.S. Open, as well as exhibitions in Tokyo, New Orleans and a James Frey-curated exhibition at New York’s The Half Gallery. The Beautiful Chaos: A Style Installation, on view at the Lower East Side’s Gallery Bar, at 120 Orchard Street from March 8-24th. The installation opens with a reception at Gallery Bar on Wednesday, March 23rd from 7 – 10PM.
