Cody Hudson for Converse (Red) Chuck Taylor

Based in Chicago , Cody Hudson is an accomplished artist who has designed record covers, snowboards countless logos and has tackled a myriad of projects from big to small. With a street sensibility, his approach is always uniquely his own – sharp, clean aesthetics often rooted in geometric shapes and patterns often make up his work. “I really wanted to create a clean, simple, great looking shoe that people would want to wear, and would in-turn help support the mission of (RED),” says Cody. The result is a rich brown leather Chuck Taylor All Star shoe with elements from classic work boots. Chambray linings and red and navy laces pop against the shoe’s brown leather upper. Cody adds an embossed version of one of his geometric shapes to the shoe’s upper, opposite an embossed version of the classic All Star logo patch. The tongue features more custom embossed detail and the footbed features Cody’s geometric artwork in red.

You can get your pair of this limited edition Chuck Taylor today, Friday November 26 over at KICKS/HI.
Phone orders will be accepted on remaining pairs beginning Monday (11/29): 808.941.9191

93 Til’ Infinity Mix… Inspired by NBA JAM

A friend to the Limité and Fresh Media team and NYC-based Mick Boogie, known for his eclectic DJ sets and amazing mixtapes, is also an avid basketball fan and a video game junkie. With the recent return of the classic 90′s arcade game NBA JAM (now refreshed and remixed for 2010), Mick was inspired to put together a mixtape of classic and rare 90′s remixes that serve as the soundtrack to where we were back in the day. Being that NBA JAM dropped in 1993… Mick’s decision to call the mix “93 Til’ Infinity” was the only appropriate choice!

In addition to the mixtape, Mick collaborated with vintage t-shirt designers Homage to create a limited edition NBA JAM/93 Til Infinity inspired tee to celebrate the release of this mix and the videogame. You can find the shirt here.

Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s

There’s was a bit of a frenzy yesterday afternoon when word broke out that Karl Lagerfeld has recently agreed to a deal with Macy’s to create a ready-to-wear line of clothing to be launched next fall. Selling everything from jeans to gowns, the Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s collection will undoubtedly create as much hysteria as the Lanvin for H&M madness last weekend, if not more. This is Macy’s latest involvement with fashion collaborations, with the Rachey Rachel Roy collection and Madonna’s Material Girl line debuting earlier this year. For Lagerfeld, this should be a sweet homecoming, as he was one of the first luxury designers to participate in “masstige”, designing a capsule collection for H&M in 2004.

Autopsy of the Nike Dunk Pro SB

Since the Nike Dunk initially launched in 1985, very few modifications have been done to it. Other than the insertion of a padded tongue and a Nike Zoom Air-sole unit in the heel that Nike SB gave it in 2002, most changes have been minor. But with the ten year anniversary of Nike SB approaching, the brand set out to give the shoe a makeover and improve on its already impeccable lineage: giving it a better gripping outsole; more board feel with better cushioning; improving fit and eliminating pressure points. The Dunk Pro SB will be available January 2011.
