Edition One Hundred, designed to provide beautifully packaged and produced art and photography at prices within reach. Based online at www.editiononehundred.com, this gallery without walls uses innovations in technology to produce and distribute high quality fine art prints to a new generation of collectors.
Edition One Hundred launched on June 30, 2010, with a program of three 2-month exhibitions to run through the end of the year. Each show is curated around a central theme—I Love LA, Freedom & Revolution, and Delayed Gratification—and features work by celebrated artists Martha Cooper, Estevan Oriol, B+, Nat Finkelstein, and Retna, among many others.
Produced by A&I Lab, Los Angeles, each artist’s work is printed in an exclusive edition of 100. With rare exceptions, each print sells for $100. Each print is featured in a two-month group show curated around a central theme. Fusing high and low, young and old, independent and commercial cultures, the current exhibit, I LOVE LA, curated by Ms. Jimenez, which features local artists, from the famous to the unknown including B+, Augustine Kofie, Estevan Oriol, Miles Regis, Katie Shapiro, and Tasya van Ree. All prints are signed by the artist, come with a certificate of authenticity. Edition One Hundred will contribute 10% from the sale of every print to the charity or cause of each artist’s choosing.
The second exhibition, FREEDOM & REVOLUTION, opens September 1 and features the work of Brooke Ashe, B+, Kevin Hayes, Ardith Ibanez, Cynthia Loebe Wendell Mc Shine, Miles Regis, and RETNA. For this exhibition, Ms. Jimenez partners with Veronica Thomas, Publicity & Exhibitions Director of A&I Lab, Los Angeles, which exclusively produces photographic prints for Edition One Hundred.
On Saturday, October 2, A&I Lab, Los Angeles, will host the first exhibition of work by all 2010 Edition One Hundred artists. The exhibition is designed to introduce the public to the brand by showcasing the luxurious production and knock out content of astoundingly affordable art. The show continues through October 18.
