Moët Hennessy USA Holiday 2010 Collection

Earlier this summer, I was invited to the Moët Hennessy offices to get a preview of their 2010 USA Holiday Gift Collection which represents a selection of Holiday offerings from their distinguished Champagne, Wine, and Spirits. I’ve highlighted items in their catalog that caught my attention as well as have a great taste. The collection displays the creativity and craftsmanship developed by Moët Hennessy team. Have a look and prepare your holiday gifts to loved ones.

DOM PÉRIGNON SIDE BY SIDE

The “Side by Side” limited edition is a first in the history of wine: two bottles of the same vintage of Dom Pérignon, with two different levels of maturation. Never before has it been possible to discover and compare two moments in the life of one remarkable wine, side by side. Dom Pérignon Vintage 1996 was aged for seven years in the cellars and was disgorged in 2003, when the wine entered its first plenitude and the Dom Pérignon style had been reached. Photographer João Pina has traveled from Afghanistan to Portugal and back again to create his diverse, insightful and thought-provoking portfolio. The series Violence in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil isn’t all doom and gloom, instead it shows the many faces of the city. In a country often perceived as full of corrupt officials and drug barons, Pina shows the beauty too – mothers with their children, parties, dancing, laughing – that survives amongst the infamous guns, drugs and death. Hellz Fall 2010 – The Rest Is Herstory

This Fall 2010 marks the growth of Hellz, with a more experimental venture entitled ‘The Rest Is Her Story,’ a collection that conveys a classic story of vengeance while simultaneously exuding sensuality and ferocity. Drawing inspiration from revenge and exploitation films such as ‘Lady Snowblood’ and ‘Thriller,’ the collection makes use of a dark color palette to embody the mood & feel of both films.

Black, white, and  texture are prevalent throughout the collection and accentuate the unorthodox but innovative silhouettes with leather, trims and details. Pieces like the ‘Alice,’ a fitted blazer with exaggerated shoulders and back ruffle detail inspired by anti-heroines who display great strength and confidence while maintaining beauty and grace. Another interesting piece from the collection is the ‘Wonderland, ‘ a fine cotton jersey printed tunic with metal hooks and eye trims, that not only demonstrates the boldness and convention of film vixens, but the brand as a whole as well. A subtle color story, intelligent and experimental silhouettes and contrasting metal details culminate in an exhibition of daring feminine sexuality and confidence, truly proving that ‘The Rest Is Her Story.’

The Lake and The Stars FW 2010 Collection

The Lake and The Stars presents their Fall 2010 collection revisiting the work of Tom Hines to bring forth their sensual and elegant collection. Taking inspiration from the Victorian era and spicing it up a bit more, designers Nikki Dekker and Maayan Zilberman take you on a road of suspense and taboo.

The secret lies in the creativity and eclecticism of two designers who are themselves full of character. The collection exudes fetish looks from the sixties and seventies, while garments such as their ‘assless tights’ are already top styles for fall 2010. They were inspired by the idea of creating garments that every woman would like to find when she’s shopping for exclusive lingerie.
