New Balance 365 Project

new-balance-shoe-pile

The New Balance 365 project is a collection of 365 short films that engages consumers 365 days a year by asking them to think about “the balance”. Beginning today, one 20 second short film that creatively explores the idea of “the balance” will post live each morning to NewBalance365.com and via the New Balance 365 iPhone alarm clock app for consumers to view, ponder, and engage with the New Balance brand each and every day of 2010.

The project was designed to revolutionize the way New Balance connects with the consumer and creates a new method of communication with the brand’s audience. Over the course of eight days, the first 88 (of 365) films were shot in Stockholm and were directed by multi-talented Swedish film director Jesper Koothoofd. New Balance 365 website moves away from the typical transactional model to one where the brand creates fresh daily content and utilities that become a part of people’s everyday lives-thus giving people a reason to interact with the brand daily. Following in the footsteps of other European brands, Lanvin is introducing an exclusive men’s line for the Japanese market. The European collection is adapted to the Japanese culture, and is called the “Garden of Eden”. In this collection, you will see blue suits, satin waistcoast, brooches with toads and flowers to represent the Garden of Eden. The collection is eclectic: while the campaign shows the more elegant pieces, there are also cardigans, hoodies and sneakers. It’s Lanvin’s tribute to a market where exclusive garments are coveted. ‘Mind Reader’ by Shyvonne

shyvonne-mind-reader

I met Shyvonne back in 2007 and have watched her pursuit of happiness unfold in front her eyes. Needless to say that I’ve kept my eye on her progress and watched as she left the corporate world to something that she was much more happier doing; singing. As I listen to her music, it reminds me that her personal style is a diverse as her music. Experimenting with a mesh of genres to form her own, Rock & Soulectro.

Her eclectic mix of thrift to sassy is an approach that led to work with Hell Bellz, Funky Fannys well as bring outfitted by the legendary fashion house Gucci for most of the singer’s live appearances, which matches the aesthetic of our readers.

Her do-it-yourself approach inevitably landed her backup slots for the likes of Estelle, Theophilus London, and Mickey Factz, opening up for Dwele at Spellman’s Homecoming concert, all before locking in her own string of dates that placed the singer in over 30 + headlining spots spanning from New York, Miami, London, and D.C. She also recorded an exclusive online promotion sneaker giant Converse for their 09 holiday campaign.

After infiltrating clubs and the consciousness of the young, progressive and exclusive, the song landed a deal with A-trak’s Fool’s Gold. Her yet-to-be titled debut (an EP, to be released March 2010) will guarantee a vast sounding body of work from the dancefloor jolts to your nervous system to the lover’s rock.

Without any further ado, Limité Magazine welcomes Shyvonne as one of our “Faces To Watch” in 2010.

Shout Out Louds Get Remixed By Passion Pit

shout-out-louds-main

In celebration of the February 23 release of their upcoming album, Work, Sweden’s Shout Out Louds have released a remix to their first single “Fall Hard” done by Passion Pit. Fall Hard was already a infectious tune with with the gratuitous help of Passion Pit, this track is sure to be around long into this summer.

Work is the band’s third album, it was recorded in Seattle and produced by Phil Ek (The Shins, Fleet Foxes, Band of Horses). After a year of touring behind their acclaimed second record, Our Ill Wills, the band went their separate ways and took a much needed break. — singer/main songwriter Adam Olenius wrote many of the new songs in Australia in a tiny room, with a little synthesizer, an acoustic guitar and Garageband on his laptop. He passed them on to the rest of the band who listened closely from their corners of the world, questioning and challenging him until the songs that make up Work had all passed the test.

As the Spring approaches slowly but surely, you will begin to start receiving wedding invitations from your friends and family. If you find yourself scatter-brained trying to figure out what to get the newly weds to-be, how about Dom Pérignon’s latest addition to the brand; Dom Pérignon Wedding.

Dom Pérignon Wedding was inspired by the magnums of Dom Pérignon Vintage 1961 which were poured at the 1981 wedding of Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles – each bottle was inscribed with the Royal’s names and the date of the most viewed wedding in history. Motivated by this celebrated day, Dom Pérignon will, for the first time in 3 centuries, allow their iconic shield to bear a similar inscription for weddings everywhere. Mishka Spring 2010 Collection

mishka-2010-spring-lookbook-main

Mishka presents its new lookbook for Spring 2010, “Trailblazing Through the City With Just a Pipe and a Guide”, once again shot by Marley Kate. ‘Mishka’s spring collection fondly remembers the days of being a defiant teenager, generations notwithstanding. We drudged up the nostalgia of being a snot-nosed-stubborn-badass that has been a hallmark trait of teenagers. So we dusted off our yearbooks, our parent’s yearbooks and even our grandparent’s yearbooks to find all the inspiration we needed for the spring collection.
