CXXVI is a New York based label by Matt Gorton and Jon Contino who are also the creatives behind the design studio OneTwentySix. For their 2009 Fall Collection, the duo takes inspiration from the hardworking people of America’s fishing towns: harbormasters, fishermen, and all those that do their daily grind along the yards and docks. The nautical theme is present in their shirt designs, as well as the designers’ pride for New York. All shirts by CXXVI are hand printed, stamped and numbered on soft vintage shirts. Inks are mixed by hand, giving each shirt a unique and distinct look. As for expansion of the line, CXXVI plans on working on a line that will include mens bags and outerwear.
