Montblanc is a longtime supporter of UNICEF, the worldwide children’s aid organization benefiting education and literacy programs. Montblanc , Signature International and UNICEF teamed up to create the World Exhibit Tour, an international Charitable Photo Project, to heighten awareness and raise funds for UNICEF’S global education and literacy programs. The tour showcased American photographer Roger Moenks’ collection of 12 portraitures featuring celebrity actresses depicted as their favorite literary heroine. The roster included Emily Blunt, Helen Hunt, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, Andie MacDowell, Lauren Hutton, Milla Jovovich, Jessica Lange, Christina Ricci, Sienna Miller, Susan Sarandon and Mira Sorvino. September 17, 2009 marked the end of the World Exhibit Tour and to celebrate, Montblanc hosted a charity gala and live auction at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.
The celebrities featured in the Charitable Photo Project donated their portraitures to the exhibition to be auctioned. The highest bidder received the unique portraiture signed by the celebrity and photographer and a one-of-a-kind special edition Montblanc Meisterstuck. The Montblanc Meisterstuck is an iconic Montblanc writing instrument, which celebrated its 85th anniversary in 2009. Montblanc created an enhanced special edition Meisterstuck specifically for this event and UNICEF. The special edition features precious metals and is set with diamonds and sapphires. All auction proceeds went to UNICEF.
