The editors of Wallpaper* collaborated with Ercol in celebration of London’s Design Week with the creation of their Chair Arch.
“We felt Britain deserved a pat on the back this year for services to design, which have surged of late, both in interest and success on a global scale, so we set about commissioning one of London’s most exciting resident designers (well versed in the art of chairs) to build an arch using chairs from one of Britain’s most historic manufacturers. Martino Gamper was the man, Ercol the manufacturer and together, with construction expertise from engineers Atelier One, the contemporary arch took shape.”
We warned you earlier this year that Lady Gaga was one of our Faces to Watch in 2009 and Kanye West is an undeniable genius, listen to his entire catalog if you doubt our statement. Love them both or leave them alone. They’re both already making eyes stretch with this video promo for their upcoming Fame Kills tour, which promises to be a subtle and classy affair from start to finish, no doubt. What is a little dubious is whether the two will actually alternate top-billing throughout the tour, as they have claimed they will, and who will have the first temper tantrum over haute couture. Make your picks in the comments, and view the full tour dates after the jump. Continue reading “Kanye & Lady Gaga pres. Fame Kills” »
Francesco Bertelli takes design with his bicycles very serious and won’t hesitate in letting you know what you will and will not find on his bikes; from no logos and stickers to including vintage crankets. For those same exact reasons is why we love so much the Bertelli Bicycles, there’s no need for the unnecessary when you just want to take a nice cruise around the neighborhood to your favorite breakfast bar.
Bertelli combines brand new parts with “new old stock” and vintage parts found at flea markets, old bikeshops, collectors and his suppliers which makes each bicycle unique. Every part is assembled by hand, finished and fine-tuned by Francesco. Talk about dedication to individuality!. Continue reading “Bertelli Bicycles” »
The LaureLuxe Metal Couture and Jewelry line is a unique mix of metal necklaces, bracelets, earrings and custom couture pieces. Its creator, Laurel Mae DeWitt, transcends the idea of wearable art. Laurel, a graduate of Pratt Art Institute in Brooklyn, NY, is no stranger to fashion. She began her career as a handbag and accessories designer for Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Guess?, Nine West, Rocawear, CR by Cynthia Rowley, and Oscar de la Renta Intimate Apparel. With her industry experience and love of creative expression, Laurel embarked on her journey to create a line that will “transform you outfit with accessories”. The LaureLuxe line does just that. Laurel defines her line as “edgy, different, makes a statement but classy”. Ironically, these qualities can be used to describe Laurel as well. Her creative being is present in each hand crafted piece. Laurel’s line speaks to the fashion trendsetters and those who know how to make a statement without saying a word. Laurel strives to become “an internationally recognized brand.” She is well on her way. Laurel’s vibe and collection is magnetic
Let LaureLuxe take you to the next level in fashion.

Hellz Bellz, one of our favorite women’s brand is pleased to present the collection ‘Midnight Riders,’ photographed by Brooke Nipar for their Fall 2009 2nd Delivery. By utilizing dark themes found in the iconic 80′s flick ‘Mad Max’, ‘Midnight Riders’ aims to represent the ideology of the subversive in not only fact and fiction, but fashion as well.
Black, pewter gray and grenadine red are colors present throughout the collection to set the tone and compliment the progressive and functional silhouettes by drawing attention to the details of each piece. New interesting pieces in this collection include; the ‘Krueger’, a unique play on a pullover jacket with a hidden hood underneath a high profile collar and the ‘Hammer’, a slouch-fit cotton canvas pant with contrasting grenadine red fabric pocket lining, welt back pockets and functional button details.
Clever silhouettes, unique details, and the use of simple colors to emphasize form and function while creating a true display of female strength, sensuality and independence that is: ‘Midnight Riders.’ Continue reading “Hellz Bellz “Midnight Riders” Lookbook” »

Taking inspiration from hard working American men of the 1930s through the 1950s. HomeRoom Clothing is pleased to present its Holiday 2009 Collection, “American Rejects”!. This line reflects the values and the blue collar work-ethic of those times. It’s the telling of man who starts his day at the break of dawn, labors until dusk, and comes home to his family, only to repeat another arduous routine the very next day. This collection is the archetype of these traditional facets of life, which are mirrored within Americana and the ideology to achieve status-quo. American Rejects embodies the overturn of classics with the intention of manifesting progressive change in style.
HomeRoom has grown and matured as has its collection. American Rejects features pieces that embody simple, nostalgic Americana. From technically designed jackets, to premium cashmere sweaters, to well-tailored oxfords and jeans, HomeRoom has graduated to the next standard. Continue reading “HomeRoom Holiday 2009” »
