I’ve been a fan of Snow Patrol since 2001 after first getting turned onto them by a friend of mine who swore they were “AMAZING!” Taking her advice I went out and picked up a copy of their CD “When It’s All Over We Still Have to Clear Up” and from the first song I was hooked. Since then I have followed the band faithfully and watched as they continued to evolve as not only songwriters, but also as a band that went from a small indie band that barely got support from their original label to a band that found itself opening up for Coldplay and U2. These days Snow Patrol is a band that doesn’t show any sign of slowing down and a band that is here to stay for a long time. Like I said, I’m a fan from way back so when I heard that Snow Patrol would be coming to NYC as part of their “Taking Back the Cities” Tour to play at the legendary Beacon Theater I knew that I had to be there. 3sixteen and Tanner Goods’ relationship originally began over a year ago as Tanner Goods would eventually become the leather-patch purveyor for 3sixteen’s well-received line of denim. Moving forward, the two come together on this latest item, a waxed canvas totebag measured at 14.5″ x 15.5″ x 3″. The totebag features black English Bridge leather with a “lift-a-dot” closure system. They made sure to include enough internal space for your laptop, magazines, books or an extra layer for the often unpredictable weather you face on the daily. The bags are sourced and produced entirely in the US. View the two colorways, olive and black.

J. Cole has been on our radar sometime now and we’re very impressed with what this young lad has been doing in the music industry; from being the first artist signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label, featured on one of the best songs on BP3, and making quite a buzz for himself with his mixtape The Come Up that released earlier this year. Hov recruited J. Cole to join him on his highly anticipated North American College Tour starting October 9 at Penn State. Cole will share opening duties with Wale and N.E.R.D., joining Jay through all 24 dates of the tour. Powered by Live Nation, the tour, being billed as “the college event of the year,” will make stops at a mix of college campus arenas and traditional venues across the U.S. and Canada. So far, dates have been confirmed in Texas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Maryland, Ontario and Alberta, with additional cities and dates to be announced later.
This is “old” by blog-o-sphere standards (it came out in early September) but I still consider it dope. Also, I’m like 99% sure that “Zuper Blahq” is Will.i.am. Enjoy!
The house built from LEGO that was built earlier this month has now been demolished after a deal to sell it fell through. The LEGO house is the latest toy challenge by James May, a British television presenter, for his BBC series James May’s Toy Stories. Because the home didn’t have planning permission on its site, the builder were hoping to find a buyer to transport the house elsewhere. LEGOland theme park showed interest, but the high cost of transportation didn’t make it a good deal in their eyes. The 3.3 million LEGO bricks used to build the home will be donated to charity once the home is no more. (more…)

As part of the Fame Festival, David Ellis and Blu spent a week collaboratively painting an entire building to create this stop motion film. The 8-minute animation sees the artists’ own characters and designs covering, crawling and sometimes demolishing parts of the building.
