Celebrating your individuality is something we enforce and take great pride in here at Limité; whether it’s in the music you listen to or the fashion garments you have in your wardrobe. Since the new millennium began there have been repetitive releases on retro sneakers and reissued models. What other piece of fashion can be altered significantly? Footwear. TAGÜR, takes design for sneakers to the next level by allowing the consumer to be the producer.
Founder and Chairman, Wesley Williams, feels “the sneaker world hit a plateau after the millennium… Things were growing stagnant and played out so we turned to more traditional creative methods through markers, paint, stencils and dyes. We reverted back to artistic expression over ‘limited’ mass production. In essence, we began to write on our shoes again and create for ourselves rather than waiting for something inspiring from the corporations.”
TAGÜR doesn’t just focus on customizing sneakers, they also have a staple shoe, the AKA Blank which is available to design. TAGÜR urges consumer artists to send pictures of their custom designs to info@tagur.com. They then have the opportunity to be exhibited in a TAGÜR event where they’ll be admired and judged by the open market. If there is significant buzz about the design(s) TAGÜR will invest in that artist to manufacture their design into a retail product.
