Funemployed by Irina Blok

41-buttons

Designer Irina Blok is at it again with her project entitled Funemployed. After being unemployed and looking for a job as an Art Director, she decided to print her resume on a t-shirt, and produce a series of buttons like “Laid Off”, “Funemployed”, “Need To Get Laid Not Laid Off”, “I Buy Caviar With Food Stamps” – and many more for $2.00 each.

Nike SB: Debacle

nikesb-debacle

When Nike announced that it was getting into skateboarding, there were plenty of doubters. “what does a company built on the waffle racer and Air Jordan’s know about the underground sport of skateboarding?”

The naysayers have been silenced and now Nike is respected in the skate world having both a roster of talent and great sneakers. One reason I think Nike has always been able to maintain it’s corporate dominance while garnering respect of their customers is they know how to gather the best talent and market themselves to their audience, in a way that shows they understand. That’s exactly what they have done with their new and revolutionary project Debacle. For Nike’s latest skate video, they teamed up with Adobe’s Experience Design (XD) team and Hega TV. Together, along with director Jason Hernandez’s leadership, they have produced a film that is inspiring and breathtaking, in full HD. Luckily for you, we’re kind enough and want to share the finer things in life; Nike SB: Debacle is available first online for viewing and download, then a Blu-Ray version will be released later.

Carlo Pignatelli

carlo-pignatelliWith forty plus years of tailoring and a constantly revolutionizing notion of elegance, Italian fashion designer Carlo Pignatelli stunned the fashion world once again with his 2009-2010 collections of all seasons. Pignatelli is the rebel who showed the fashion world that bridegrooms are just as important to be looked at as the bride. He showed us that men could wear Haut Couture and thus holds a reputed reputation for men’s formal wear. He gives us constantly unprecedented colours and styles in some of the most ceremonial moments in our lives.

With enormous success in Italy (whereby a quarter of all men receive their tuxedos from his fashion line), Germany, and the rest of Europe, Carlo Pignatelli has been able to expand his impeccable eye for precision to men, women, and children with ceremonial, classic, outside, prêt-a-porter, underwear, shoe, and accessory lines. He recently decided to expand his sphere of fans to the United States—providing magnificent shoes in New York and Los Angeles. The new line has new colours, new silhouettes, and patterns that make even the most jaded fashion critic look twice. Nevertheless, the collection remains signature Carlo Pignatelli: well designed, perfectly fitted, impeccably tailored, and richly dyed. Continue reading “Carlo Pignatelli” »

HTC Hero Phone

htc-hero-main

HTC recently launched their new Hero phone that will run a customized version of the Google Android operating system. HTC was the first manufacturer to create a phone that ran Android and the Hero aims to set the bar higher. The Hero’s design is very similar to the G1 model, using a similar angled base and button layout. However the Hero is much thinner and doesn’t have an analog keyboard, instead it uses an on-screen touch keyboard. The phone also puts a large priority on customization, giving users lots of options to make the phone unique to them. The phone has a 3.2 inch screen and 5 mega pixel camera with auto focus. In addition the phone features a trackball to add in navigation and a plastic case with baked in teflon coating to prevent nicks and scratches. the HTC Hero is set for launch in Europe this Summer and around the world later this year. Lois Jeans Spring/Summer 2009

lois-jeans-spring-summer-2009-1

The latest Lois Jeans collection consists of eight lines: Teddy, City, Bleach, Navy, Africa, Vintage, Folk, and Hippie Chic. Teddy pays homage to the Grease era. Vibrant red, white and black checker-board patterns paired with high-waisted skirts and dark colored denim. City is for the urban happy hour. It’s a modern spin on office attire designed to transition from the work day to the after-work hot spots. Bleach takes it back to the 80s with destroyed denim and appliqués. These trendy jeans are paired with classic white tanks aka “wife beaters” and chunky but sexy gold chains. Navy has a sailor vibe with the all-American and timeless red, white and blue stripes. These pieces are nautical but trendy enough for Fire Island. Africa has an earthy flare. Linen and cotton mixed with rustic earth tones. This line follows the now popular safari theme. Vintage is a line of premium denims in all the stylist cuts. Folk is a spin on boho chic with a ting of 60s retro colors and patterns. Wide leg pants, flowy tops and dresses in purples, yellows, greens and pinks mixed with splashes of funky prints. Hippie Chic has a skateboarder feel with light-wash bleached denim, worn shirts, jumpsuits and rompers paired combat-like boots.

Lois Jeans’ spring/summer line has some hot pieces. The brand is quite popular in Spain. Hopefully, you can luck up and find a few items from this collection in the US. If you do, let me know where! View more images after the jump. Continue reading “Lois Jeans Spring/Summer 2009” »

Destinations: Barcelona

Leaving Barcelona is probably the worst part of taking a vacation to this Catalan metropolis. This port city has become the it city to visit in Spain and rightly so: there are countless places to visit and there is a neighborhood for all types of travelers. Whether you are bohemian, rich, gay, etc. you could call Barcelona home.

destinations-barcelona-limitemagazine.com

Barcelona is a sea-level city with beautiful natural parks surrounding it that seem like mountains. These parks (Parc Güell, Montjüic) provide you with amazing views of the Mediterranean sea, the city, and the landmarks that make up the skyline of Barcelona. Visit Montjuic Park and you see a great fountain show that illuminates the night. This park is also home to the Olympic buildings and stands behind the pompous entrance of Plaça Espanya. O.D.M. Pixel Watches

odm-pixel-watch-main

Adding a dash of color to your wardrobe never hurts, in actuality it might get you a few compliments and queries so why not take a further step by being “original, dynamic & minimalist” with the new timepiece collections by O.D.M. Established in ’99 by mixing the three elements comes their Spring/Summer 2009 Pixel Watches which have this rather interesting luminescent timing technology where plates are inlayed into a oversized bangle which seemed a bit uncomfortable at first but then you appreciate the fact that it doesn’t glide up and down your wrist. Definitely targeted to the young and fashionable who are fond of new and bold designs. O.D.M. puts a modern twist on the classic watch for those who want to wear something classy, yet unexpected. The Pixel collection comes in a spectrum of colors including fuchsia, violet, ocean blue, sweet pink, brilliant yellow, gold, black, white and clear.

And O.D.M. takes self-expression beyond color. Several collections feature the original O.D.M. message screen where you can customize and display the message of your choice. So go ahead, say “I Love You”, “Go Canes!” or any other choice of words you like and don’t be afraid to wear your heart….on your wrist! View more photos after the jump Continue reading “O.D.M. Pixel Watches” »
