In a brilliant display of color and light, Vivid Sydney, the biggest international light, music and ideas festival in the Southern Hemisphere, launched on Tuesday, May 26th.
A spectacular lighting of the famed Sydney Opera House sails with images conceived by renowned British artist/musician Brian Eno transformed the city’s iconic building into a glowing artist’s canvas. Presented in association with Smart Light Sydney, Eno’s continuously changing abstract and colorful artwork will be projected onto the sails of the Sydney Opera house from 5pm to 1am each evening from now through June 14th.
Smart Light Sydney, an enlightening and illuminating element of Vivid Sydney also launched last night. Aiming to inspire, engage and educate audiences, the Smart Light showcases a range of smart lighting techniques with a keen focus on energy efficiency, reusable materials and innovative technology. From pedal-powered artwork on the banks of Sydney harbor to a real time weather pattern projection, the Light Walk will capture the imagination and inspire the countless festival visitors.
