Barack Obama: The Freshman

M+B Gallery
May 28th – July 18th
Opening Reception May 28th 6 – 9pm
612 North Almont Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90069

As the history books are getting republished as we speak (or type), we’ve all are witnesses to this life-changing phenomena, but a even more lucky young lady by the name of Lisa Jack got the privilege of hanging and probably indulging in a smoke or two with future president of the free world. These photos were taken when Barack was a freshman at Occidental College sporting a wide-brimmed Panama and gracefully puffing on a cigarette.

Today marks the opening of an exhibition showcasing 21 of the 36 photos taken from this series at West Hollywood’s M+B Gallery. The images will be on display until 18th July. I’m urging all our fellow Californians to make a pilgrimage and take in these amazing photos. Check some samples from the series after the jump.
