A bold move off the court has the media buzzing about 6-11 high school junior basketball star, Jeremy Tyler. 17 yr-old Tyler, of San Diego has decided to against the norm and skips college all together, in hopes of landing his dream job in the NBA. Instead of a prom and senior year memories with the help of his father, James Tyler and basketball “middleman” Sonny Vaccarro, Tyler will be gearing to go the European route in order enhance his craft and get exposure in a more challenging setting beyond the High School or College level.
According to reports Tyler was bored with High School basketball and did not feel as though college level ball would give him the exposure and challenge that he wanted or needed-even though Tyler was committed to the University of Louisville. But I guess if Ricky Rubio of Spain could play professionally at the ripe age of 14, then why can’t Tyler? Although many criticize his decision Tyler, also has many supporters who think that he is making the best career decision. At the age of 17 he will be making more money then many American college graduates (especially in this economy). Continue reading “Jeremy Tylor” »
Plaster and Paste, words used through out art, construction, and design vocabulary; are all too familiar with graphic tee designer John Laurist. His ready-to-wear and urban inspired tee, Plaster and Paste is composed of two lines: Plaster, the higher end line, and the subtle take on the traditional Paste tee. Plaster is more modest design made of finer fabric, where as Paste is dramatic in its delivery and is closer to “street wear”. Plaster and Paste represents two bodies in one mind, that of designer John Laurist. Continue reading “Plaster and Paste” »
I nearly jizzed in my pants when I saw the Stile Bertone Mantide Project M which debuted yesterday at the Shanghai Autoshow by the famed Pininfarina designer Jason Castriota. Stile Bertone Mantide Project M supercar is a sleek, beyond futuristic automobile with a Corvette ZR1.
The carbon fiber body enables the ZR1 engine to push the relatively lightweight supercar 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds topping out at 217 mph. Much more information to be had at their site including a video. Now excuse me as I go wipe myself.

Dim Mak Tuesday’s at Los Angeles’ Cinespace on Tuesday night offered some surprising sights. Not only was it Busy P’s birthday celebration, hosting a variety of DJs in the mix, but a surprise set by one half of Daft Punk, made fans go crazy for more reasons than one.
Thomas Bangalter, (in grey Nike tee) half of the amazing French house-DJ duo, Daft Punk, made an appearance at the Cinespace, according to Stereogum. Bangalter jumped on stage to take over the tunes, leaving the crowd freaking out; not only because the infamous DJ was playing a surprise set, but because he was without his famous helmet on stage.
The three song set saw the human after all DJ spin Daft Punk’s “Rollin’ & Scratchin’,” DJ Mehdi’s “Signatune” (on which he featured in the first place), and Prince’s “Raspberry Beret.”
Having picked up a camera in her teenage years, photographer Amanda Lopez slowly developed an impressive reel of happy snaps that has led her to work with mags such as XXL, Mass Appeal and The Source. Add to that a stint as Estevan Oriol’s assistant and you know this lady has the skills to pay the bills. Winding down her critically acclaimed True Story Series exhibition which details her travels through the eyes of her beat up Vans, La Lopez is in the process of creating another slice of history with a new book called ‘Girls Got Kicks.’ The book is set to be published in conjunction with Female Sneaker Fiend Lori Lobenstine and will travel worldwide to chronicle the crusade of women and their sneakers!

Greedy Genius has finally taken a step away from their traditional bright colored footwear and offer a preview into their upcoming style, the Ocean Runner. The shoe takes on subtle nautical characteristics mostly in the form of re-appropriated boat shoe characteristics. The shoe features tonal nubuck uppers with external lacing details along the heel and side panels. The Greedy Genius branding is kept to a minimum except for the tongue area which is much better than their logo. No confirmation yet on an official release date.
