Luise & Franck

The Definition of A Neutral Blend

When I discovered Luise & Franck I was definitely Überrumpeln! Okay my little keen Limite’ goers, for those of you who can’t find your German to English dictionaries that’s German for “taken by surprise”. Say it with me…”Uyber-Roomp-elt”. Now that you have learned something new, give AYURI credit for that new wrinkle in your brain!

Luise Schwarze and Franck Pouch behind the label are two Franco – (East) German designers heading the modernist fashion revolution in menswear. From the time they came together in 2005 until 2007 when their first collection was launched in Paris, they were fused with a unique fashion sense described with the term “The Minimalist Expression”. This term is heavily used in the art world to describe simple, yet fresh and brilliant forms of art design. These two designers have found a way to bring this term to the fashion world and evolve it with the use of fabric. They credit their inspiration in general to the realms of “expressionist art, psyche folk music, and post modern architecture.”

Of one of their newest collections, “REBORN” is an ingenious blend of “Next Generation” design and simplicity. Using a soft array of fabrics and styles, the designers breathe life into the visualization of a Modernist Era. One can dress very well in fitted clothing while still holding his masculinity with this collection and label overall.

So, what have we learned? Read between the lines. Here, I’ll break it down for you! Lesson one: pronunciation of the word “Überrumpeln” might possibly make you spit so stand five steps back before you use your new word today, show off! Lesson two: Viva La Luise & Franck because they rock! Last but not least… Lesson three: Men, embrace your Metro-sexual self this summer. Sandals are good for the soul, just please don’t let me catch you using “The Man Bag” or as we ladies say… a purse.
