The “Queen of Burlesque”, sexiness, elegance, and fetish, Miss Dita Von Teese is a fair skinned beauty that we all can’t help but love. Armed with a vintage style and enough sexual confidence for all of female-kind. Dita is one of the first names that comes to mind where modern dance is involved. As an accomplished ballerina, model, and burlesque dancer Von Teese, born Heather Sweet, is in a sex class of her own.
A fan of the 1930′s, ‘40′s, and ‘50′s burlesque shows Dita embarked on her career at the age of 18, as a stripper in California. However, the creative and innovative Von Teese was bored with the “average” costume and routine and put her costume design skills to work as she re-invented her own look. We hardly report on cars – or car companies (because they’re busy taking our tax dollars, instead of letting us choose which company we’d like to buy from) – but we believe California’s Tesla is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
Tesla recently announced (this last Wednesday) – the Model S - a new vehicle, which is 100% electric, with a 300 mile driving range on a 45 minute charge. 0-60 MPH in 5.6 seconds and a touchscreen center console for integration with your cell phone, gps or any other bluetooth device. Photos:
While this car is a bit pricey (with a $50k base price) and is slated for release in 2011, we are co-signing the Tesla brand as a long term winner, for everyone.
Continuing with their Spring & Summer 09 drops, the much anticipated NEU PAINTERS styles are available now at the Official Online Store and Official’s premium retailers. In true Official fashion, the introduction of the painter’s silhouette brings it’s own custom shape, premium construction and detailing, and distinguished designs to this style of headwear. 3 styles are available including the BMXER which drips baby blueness over a red cotton broadcloth, the BLACK CHEZK which is the more subtle of the group contrasting a neon green checkered pattern over tonal black checks, and the GHREY SHEMAGH WARS with an 8 bit shemagh-techno-war print with complimenting checker prints. Available here.

HUNGER is the stunningly assured debut feature from Turner Prize-winning visual artist Steve McQueen. Winner of the 2008 Cannes Camera d’Or among other top international prizes, the film is a work of astonishing precision co-written by acclaimed Irish playwright Enda Walsh and starring Michael Fassbender (300, Tarantino’s upcoming INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS) in an unflinchingly passionate turn. HUNGER was an official selection of the Toronto, Telluride and New York film festivals. In 1981, a deadly serious battle takes place in the infamous H-block of Belfast’s Maze Prison. Republican inmates, led by Bobby Sands (Fassbender), refuse to eat until the British government acknowledges the IRA as a legitimate political organization. Steve McQueen’s commanding direction captures the phsyical details of their struggle. Is it suicide or martyrdom?

She’s an educated, gorgeous culinary master who has worked as both model and actress. She’s Padma Parvati Lakshmi — and she is, without a doubt — a woman we (more than) love. Some of you may recognize her as the host of Bravo series Top Chef, and as such, it’s both apropos and endearing to see her, in all her beauty, featured in the new Hardee’s restaurant commercials. We admit that Padma provides a very appetizing alternative to the product she’s representing — but at the same time, she keeps us hungry for more. Yum.

“March Madness” just got madder! A tournament that begins with 64 teams in finally down the “Final Four”. As March Madness winds down for the win, leaving 60 teams disappointed as two final four regulars, the underdogs, and Huskies will give their all for the last few games of the College 2008-2009 basketball season.
This weekend teams went home after coming so close to a coveted spot in the Final Four. On Sunday, March 29, 2009, North Carolina and Michigan joined Villanova and Connecticut which finalized the quartet. Expected teams like Syracuse, Pittsburg, and Oklahoma University played great games but were unable to come out winners, and inevitably were dropped out of the race to advance to one of the limited 4 spots reserved for Detroit’s Ford Field.
