Spring is all the Rage

The groundhog was a bit groggy when he came out his hole earlier this year so we’re a little unsure about when Spring will officially break. In the meantime, there’s no harm in preparing yourself for the temperature change now! The shops have already stocked their racks with Pre-Spring collections so now is a better time than never; and when the season hit, you won’t feel pressured to shop-’till-you-drop at the Palisades Mall. Just so there’s no debates as to what to purchase when you do hit the pavement running, here’s a run down of the major trends for Women’s Spring 2009.

Black & White
No longer a representation of an inmate, Black & White stripes are a chic addition to any garment whether it be a hat, a clutch, a skirt, or a shoe. Spice this trend up with a pop of color or keep it Park Ave. with head to toe Black & White.

The Sacred G
Only true Rob & Big fans would appreciate the Sacred G. For those who are clueless, Geometric shapes are another trend to watch for. The only good luck these designs are going to bring you is the Sartorialist photo taken on 6th Avenue.

Jumpsuits
Remember the overalls back in the day with the metal snaps, inspired by R&S sensation Aaliyah (R.I.P); well these aren’t those. The jumpsuits of 2009 are slightly more glamorous and can be seen any many different silhouettes; some strapless, some halter, some short and some harum [pant]. No matter the style, accessorize your jumpsuit to the max with ornate neckwear and cuffs.

Orange-and-Beige days
The monochrome trend will never die, it just gets better and better. This season, try Orange for your happy days and beige for your okay day. All you need with these looks is subdued accessories so that on one hand you don’t look like a prisoner and on the other hand you don’t look like a DMV employee of the month.

Accessories
This season, it’s really all about the accessories and the key here is embellishment.
