Name / Alias: Theophilus London II
Where are you originally from?
Brooklyn, New York — some parts of Canada and Trinidad.
Occupation? Musician, Soul Seeker, Loner.
First time I saw you perform at BLVD for Raye 6 birthday celebration, I immediately knew you possessed a raw talent that can’t be placed in just one music genre…if you had to describe your style, what would it be?
My style of music is Soul – Through out my years of practice and researching I have studied the art of Hip-Hop, Post Punk , Electro, Industrial…and many others not having to do with music. So all of that consist of my sound. Its my music + Art which brings it to life.
You’ve been deemed a member of what’s considered this new LEADERS OF THE NEW SCHOOL amongst other up and coming talent (Mickey Factz, Kid Cudi, Charles Hamilton and Jesse Boykins III) with the majority coming out of New York. Have you seen a change in the direction of hip-hop from let’s say one year ago? And the re-emergence of music coming out of New York?
Actually I can disagree with you, I’m not deemed or neither a leader of the new school. I wasn’t on the XXL cover or never was I mentioned with any of those artists. I love what those guys have going…but it has nothing to do with me. (laughs) and def. not Jesse Boykins… he is an R&B Soul singer…tons of women attend these shows…not the hip hop bros that attend the “new school” shows. lol. I definitely love the new sound that Hip-Hop is moving with. It’s more fun, I believed after losing two Hip-Hop greats like Big and Pac to violence people have waken up.
What inspires you in your daily pursuit of life?
Friends, two cool dogs named Free and Prince, Women, Misty nights, Castro’s Mexican grill and creating art.

Some people say they’ve never seen you without a cap/hat, is that your trademark item in your wardrobe?
No one has ever acknowledged that before. The Hat is a very personal thing to me. I also collect hats…So I end of wearing half of ‘em.
