This Thanksgiving Thursday, Moncler will unveil their first U.S. boutique in Aspen, designed by Parisian architect Patrick Gilles who was commissioned to work on Moncler President Remo Ruffini’s sailboat who asked Gilles to create concepts for the stores once he was done. Gilles end up creating two for the luxury outwear brand, one that’s “city-appropriate”, and another designed for the slopes. Expect to find gloves, hats, shoes, and the full range of Moncler puffers (like the Leon, pictured), as well as a sleek neo-Alpen interior. Although Gilles has never visited the resort town, his team designed the walls of a historic drugstore with horizontal slats of burnished St. Moritz pine, dark petit granite floors, antique antler stools and armchairs, and iron tables finished with black patina.
