What’s next in auto? 4 cars of the future.

Electric cars are the future, we know this. You know this. The price of gas is rising and we’re expected to be spent by 2050. The real question is though, “What will be hottest electric car available?”.

We set out to find the sexiest cars, do not worry we found the creme de la creme. Wonder no more… Here is what the socialite will be dying to get their grubby little millionaire hands on.

Tesla

Tesla

You’ve probably heard of Tesla, if not read our blog more often. Tesla is a San Francisco based company creating a fully electric car. Only the super valley elite have access to road testing Tesla’s this year. But very recently, the Governator blessed Tesla with a huge break so they can produce their cars here at home in the U.S. of A. Expect some early next year.

Specs:

  • Horsepower: 248
  • Max Speed: 155 MPH
  • Price: $109,000
  • Available: Early-to-mid 2009

Shelby

Shelby Electric Car

The producers of the worlds fastest gasoline production car are now bringing you the worlds fastest electric production car. Cutting their HP in half you can still go breeze past any Porsche, Ferrari or Lamborghini in this puppy. How is that for amore?

  • Horsepower: 500
  • Max Speed: 125 MPH
  • Price: $300,000+
  • Available: Mid-to-late 2009

Aptera

Aptera

Ergonometry is a science precisely followed by Aptera. This car is far more economical than any of the cars in our line up and still has an amazing aesthetic. We think this will be the big winner in the Electric car space. Mark our words.

Specs:

  • Horsepower: 24 (yes, 24hp)
  • Max Speed: 95 MPH
  • Price: $27,000
  • Available: Late 2009 – Early 2010

Mercedes

Mercedes F700 electric car

Mercedes has announced they have plans to make their entire line of vehicles independent of fossil fuels by 2015. Daimler-Chrysler CEO, Dieter Zetsche has said “We plan an electric Smart for 2010 and for the same year a Mercedes (electric) model as well…” There are no specs available on the Mercedes electric car, so we’re in for a surprise.

Specs:

  • Horsepower: N/A
  • Max Speed: N/A
  • Price: Undisclosed
  • Available: Mid-to-late 2010

After blowing your life-savings on one of these puppies, make sure you pull out the second mortgage for a membership into a car club that sets you apart from all others, the Monticello Motor Club. It only costs $125,000, Pfft. I make that, like every minute.
